The notification consists in informing a contact or a contact group of a status change on a piece of equipment, on a unit service, on a user service.

A contact can be a ServiceNav user. It can also be defined in ServiceNav without having access to the application.

A contact can be notified on its notification time slot, on all or some of the status changes, as soon as the status changes or after several checks of the status change have been made.

A contact defined at company level may be notified for equipment, unit services and user services associated with that company. A contact may also be notified for equipment, unit services and user services associated with company sites.

Contact groups contain contacts. Contact groups are defined at company code level. They cannot be defined at site level. They can, however, contain contact persons defined at company site level.

To establish the overall notification policy for a corporate client, proceed as follows:

  1. Define notification time slots
  2. Define notification contacts
  3. Define a contact group
  4. Define the notification policy for an equipment
  5. Define the notification policy for a unit service
  6. Define the notification policy for a user service
